Dress the Rainbow: Orange and Peach

Yesterday I started a series of posts, each featuring spring clothing and accessories in a particular color. Yesterday's featured color was pink; today's will be orange and peach.

I love this pleated wide leg pant ($35 at Ann Taylor) in flame azalea. With soft pleats at the waist, slightly flared wide legs, and belt loops, you'll look feminine but professional. Pair with a crisp white dress shirt or a fun pastel print top, like...

...this watercolor shirt ($30 at Chico's) in alabaster. The top is semi-sheer so throw it on over a cami or tank and button it or leave it loose. The lightweight, flowy fabric is comfortable when the days start to get warm in the afternoon.

This Karen Kane flare sleeve twist hem jersey top ($88 at Nordstrom) in orange features a jewel neck, 3/4-length bell sleeves, and a hip-length hem with twist accent. Great over capris, jeans, or a floral skirt

Spring is a great season for short-sleeved cotton dresses, like this Renee C. print collared midi dress ($100 at Saks Off 5th) in orange. This loose-fitting tropical print dress begs for a wide leather belt (or a tan fabric sash) and a collarbone-skimming necklace

Ankle pants are big this spring, as in these high rise tapered ankle pants ($10 from New York & Company) in flame orange. Wear them out to dinner with cute sandals to show off your first pedi of the season, or with white tennies for a walk in the warm sunshine.

I love this belted cotton linen skirt ($22 at The Loft) in orange creamsicle. It's a little short for the office, but it's cute for going out, whether to a restaurant or just for a walk. And it's such a fantastic spring color!

Once your toes are pedi-ready for spring, try these cute and comfortable GC Shoes bay wedge sandals ($39 at Macy's) in coral. The platform/wedge style adds height without sacrificing comfort, and the memory foam insole adds even more comfort.

For sleek and chic office dressing, this linen blend boatneck sheath dress ($40 at Ann Taylor) in vivid apricot is just the thing. Fully lined and machine washable, this figure-skimming dress features a jewel neck and a short front pleat. Dress it up with pearls or down with a cardigan or casual scarf

This 1.State paisley printed midi skirt ($30 at Macy's) in russet orange is feminine without being flowery. The A-line cut clings at the waist and hips then flares gracefully to the mid-calf. Another look that easily goes from work (with a sweater) to a night out (with a sleeveless blouse).
I'm not really a designer bag person, but I love love love this Perry leather crossbody ($79 at Kate Spade Outlet) in turmeric root. It's not too big but not too small, bright but not obnoxiously bright, and its beautifully finished smooth leather features a small brass logo and brass fittings as embellishments.

Orange you glad it's almost spring?
