Dress the Rainbow: Pink

I've had so much fun shopping virtually for my past few blogs that I decided to continue by shopping "through the rainbow". I'll do a series of posts, each featuring current clothing and accessories in a particular color. Since it's spring, I'll start with a nice, cheerful pink. 

I love this applique cut work top ($35 at Chico's) in pink bromeliad (someone at Chico's has a LOT of fun naming colors). I like the round neck, the slightly flared short sleeves, and especially the scalloped edge, which is slightly cropped. It would look great with casual skinny jeans, crisp dress pants for work, or a silky skirt for an evening out. 

These Riviera slim pants in doubleface ($$26 at The Loft) in pink sea shell are a soft shade of pink that would pair well with darker and brighter colors. Their slim line and mid-rise waist are flattering and comfortable. 

Not everyone looks good - or is comfortable - in a jumpsuit, but if you're one of the lucky ones, take a look at this Marc New York sleeveless belted jumpsuit ($57 at JC Penney) in raspberry. The flared pants are pleated at the waist and end slightly above the ankle, and the wide tie self-belt cinches in the waist. Top with a cardigan or jacket to stretch into cooler weather. 

If softer and more classic is more your style, think about this tie-front blouse ($30 at Banana Republic Factory) in elegant berry. Shirring at the neckline and cuffs adds soft volume, and the ties can be worn open for a more casual look or tied for a more professional one. 

Be daring in this On 34th A-line satin midi slip skirt ($32 at Macy's) in bold pink. Fitted at the waist and hip, the skirt flares right at the hem, which hits just below the knee. The satin finish and vivid color make it especially eye-catching. 

Another look that can span the seasons nicely by adding a sweater or jacket is this On 34th halter-neck midi dress ($39 at Macy's) in magenta moon. With its full, pleated skirt and long bow at the base of the V-neck, it works anywhere from the office to out on the town. 

If you're still leaning in to the cooler weather instead of the warmer, this Yousify long sleeve round neck split hem striped midi dress ($25 at Amazon) in pink striped should fit the bill. The wide rib creates flattering vertical lines that accentuate your curves. Throw on a colorful scarf or a statement necklace to dress it up or wear it as is. 

This floral linen framed popover ($25 at Ann Taylor) in magenta shadow looks great with white capris, jeans, or under a blazer with a pencil skirt. Cuffed cap sleeves and an open front placket are cool and comfy for spring!

That pale pink jacket you need to throw on the above dresses and blouses until the weather really warms up? Try this wide peak lapel one button blazer in linen blend ($60 at Ann Taylor) in lipstick. A professional cut with flap pockets that nips in just a tad at the waist and ends at the lower hip, this jacket works with suit pants or a skirt. 

If you need a fun, lightweight outside jacket to tide you over until warmer weather, this zip-up cargo bomber jacket ($14 at Forever 21) in pink is a deal you can't pass up!
