Spring Fashions: If I Had a Million Dollars

I recently posted a blog of some great spring wardrobe additions at affordable prices. But what would I buy this spring if money were not a consideration? I shopped all the high-end stores I could think of and here are the gorgeous pieces I'd love to have. Dream with me...

Tops

A step up from a basic t-shirt, this eyelet embroidered sleeve top from Ann Taylor ($65) adds a touch of feminine lace to liven up a casual tee.

Another casual but elegant look is this sleeveless poplin wrap top from White House Black Market ($79), available in white or "isla," a deliciously vivid ocean blue.

Every wardrobe can use a sleeveless lace top to wear alone or under a jacket or cardigan. This sleeveless lace top from White House Black Market ($99, currently on sale for $59) features a sheer yoke and a hint of lace at the shoulders to bump it up a level. Available in five colors.

This loose-fitting, flowy floral print pleated blouse from Nordstrom ($89) looks so cool and comfortable! Wear tucked into the cropped white jeans below or loose over a pencil skirt.

Another light, spring-y long-sleeve option is this long-sleeve matte jersey top from White House Black Market ($89). I love the soft print and the pleated sleeves.

Skirts

I love the length of this button waist skirt from Ann Taylor ($109) - short enough to be modern and youthful, but long enough to flatter those of us who lack a thigh gap. And I love the vintage 1940s nautical look of the 4-button waistband.

If a below-the-knee skirt is more your style, go for this white eyelet pleated full skirt from Ann Taylor ($139). I especially love the row of buttons at the side front.

For a trim, professional office look, try this print wrap pencil skirt from Ann Taylor ($119). The navy and tan on white print is summery without relying on pastels, but could blend with a contrasting solid color top or be accented with either a neutral or a colorful jacket. Very versatile.

Look at all the beautiful shades of blue in this crepe de chine watercolor print A-line maxi skirt from Neiman Marcus ($198). It's got marvelous movement and shine.

For all those times when you're in the office but wishing you were walking on the beach, check out this floral-print midi-wrap skirt from Neiman Marcus ($380). It combines a golden yellow background with a lavender and coral floral border print, an angled front hem, and a curved waistband with sarong-style tie.

Pants

I absolutely adore the lines of these pleat pants from Nordstrom ($218). The legs are wide but not too wide, the pleats create a lovely curved line, and the color has a hint of warmth to it. Available in 4 other colors, including "Very Peri," which I love, and "Pink Peacock," which...not so much.
White jeans are a great spring casual pant that pairs well with crisp jackets, pastel blouses, and cute sandals. These high waist crop jeans from Nordstrom ($210) have a great contemporary look.

These crop pants in soft blue and white plaid from Ann Taylor ($85) work equally well with slingback heels and white tennies. The flat front and slim fit are flattering for many figures.

The slim silhouette of these tapered ankle pants from White House Black Market ($110) give them a modern feel while staying crisp and professional. The self-belt is a cute touch for a more casual look.

These cute bright pink button comfort stretch pants from White House Black Market ($110) come in curvy, classic, and petite sizes to fit and flatter every figure.

Dresses

It doesn't get much more summery than this pretty cotton eyelet tiered midi dress from Nordstrom ($168-$178). The wide belt at center minimizes your waist, and the gathering is close to the hip and fuller at the lower tier, which creates a slimming line. And I love that the blue isn't too pastel, nor is it too dark. Like Mama Bear's bed, it's juuuust right.

This floral bustier sundress from Nordstrom ($225) looks like it would flatter any figure, with its ruched bustier bodice and A-line skirt. Available in three delicate floral prints and two bold solid colors.
This crisp, white cotton midi shirtdress from Nordstrom ($129) is a great base piece to accessorize with fabulous shoes, a cropped jacket or cardigan sweater, a pretty floral scarf, or a great statement necklace.
This graceful floral sleeveless dress from Nordstrom ($295) features a gathered neck, back ties, and a summary floral print. Cool and casual, yet elegant and appropriate for any occasion.

Sporty yet professional, this blue printed scuba fit and flare dress from White House Black Market ($180) is fashionable yet practical for the beach, the grocery store, or the office, depending on whether you pair it with an oversized sunhat, a trim cardigan, or a tailored blazer.

Another flattering variation of a wrap dress, this sleeveless draped slub sheath dress from White House Black Market ($130) features a wide waist tie, angled hem, and gathered shoulders. It's a good basic in black or "officer blue," but the cheerful dandelion is perfect for spring.

Jackets & Sweaters

I love a casual denim jacket, and this cotton blend trucker jacket from Nordstrom ($99) is super-casual with its frayed hem and cuffed sleeves, available in a cheery spring pink or a pale greenish tan called "cactus".

If you're dressing up instead of dressing down, this barely-baby-blue Newbury blazer from Ann Taylor ($169) adds a touch of class to everything from jeans to a sheath dress with its sleek, classic silhouette.

This long-sleeve rib cardigan from White House Black Market ($99, currently on sale for $69) can be worn buttoned up and sleek, or open over a basic cami or blouse. The vertical ribbing is slimming, and it comes in five colors, including stiletto (top) and bisque (bottom).

A great way to add warmth when the sun goes down is with this pointelle coverup in rose smoke from White House Black Market ($99). The loose knit gives it a light, springy feel while still providing warmth when you need it, and the pointed front makes it work with skirts of any length as well as pants.

Accessories

This cashmere scarf from Nordstrom ($99) is available in 9 different colors, to accent any piece in your wardrobe, as well as to help transition from warmer days to cooler evenings.

This cute Michael Kors jet set shoulder bag from Nordstrom ($158, on sale for $119) is available in pink (shown), bright green, or basic black. I love the chain strap and the long leather zipper pull.

I love a pop of color in my shoes, and these red leather low-top sneakers from Neiman Marcus ($158) certainly pop!

Of course, I have to wrap it up with a great hat: an upturn sunhat from Neiman Marcus ($295). Flip the brim up or down for two very different looks. Available in two different neutral shades. Always welcome spring in with a great hat!
